Okhaldhunga Community Hospital (OCH) is a rural hospital (officially 50 beds), to the east of Kathmandu, eight hours journey by vehicle. We provide hospital services to our surrounding communities – including general medicine and surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, obstetrics, and gynaecology. Associated programmes of the hospital include community-based rehabilitation, mental health, and the Okhaldhunga School of Health Sciences which trains staff nurses (PCL Nursing).
Position: Social Care Worker
Required No: 1
Main Role:
To offer spiritual care and counselling support for patients and staff experiencing emotional stress, family crisis, severe physical or psychiatric illnesses, or substance abuse. Additionally, to collaborate with all hospital departments and relevant organisations, ensuring optimal care for the most vulnerable patients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Social Work, Counselling Training, or any other pertinent field.
Preferred Experience:
- One or two years of work experience as a hospital-based social care worker/ counsellor
- Experience in accounting
Job Level: Grade 5-7
