Position: Education Officer
Our Sansar is a charity dedicated to providing education, shelter, and welfare to the most disadvantaged children in Nepal. Our primary work is focused on Madhesh Pradesh. We assist children who have experienced poverty, abuse, neglect, child labour.
Role Description:
We are looking for our Education Officer to start as soon as possible in Rautahat. The role would suit someone with teaching, community coordination and/or research experience. The Education Officer will work with our End to Child Labour Programme team in Rautahat and there will be travel involved to other places in Nepal to research academic and vocational courses.
The main purpose of the role is to help with further education of children that finish their school – careers advice, counselling, preparing the children for either further formal education or vocational courses, helping them map out their dreams for the future and supporting them to achieve their goals.
Responsibilities:
- Organise mentors, motivational speakers, workshops for children from Grade 8 onwards to show them future possibilities.
- Organising career counselling sessions with the children (training for this will be provided)
Map out a variety of courses – formal and vocational ones across Nepal and prepare a publication with all the details based on the research - Oversee the Educational Project and ensure all the deadlines are met
- Work closely with the families of the children to ensure a holistic approach
- Assist with community training when needed
- Prepare monthly progress reports
- Prepare monthly cashbooks and budgets
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent research skills
- Able to work and travel independently
- Experience in Training and development would be beneficial
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Experience working with children from different backgrounds will be a big advantage
- Excellent knowledge of Nepali and English languages. Knowledge of Bhojpuri or Bajjika highly beneficial but not compulsory
- Professional experience working with Excel, Word, Google Drive
- Attention to detail is a must

Salary: 30,000Rs salary, accommodation, food, health insurance, opportunities to grow with the organisation.
