Association of Medical Doctors of Asia-Nepal (AMDA-Nepal) was established in 1989 and was officially registered in the government office as an NGO in 1990. It is a humanitarian, nonprofit-making, non-political, non-sectarian, social organization working with its mission to promote the health and well-being of the underprivileged and marginalized people under the slogan “Better quality of life for better future”. AMDA Nepal is providing curative and preventive health services through its hospitals and projects in different parts of Nepal. AMDA Nepal also established academic health programs focusing to produce middle-level health professionals, offering various diploma level programs. This initiative reflects a commitment to evolving healthcare education and preparing skilled professionals for the future.
The anticipated USAID Sustainable HIV Epidemic Control Project will deliver relevant and efficient direct service delivery that is effective in surging, scaling, and sustaining HIV services and systems for long-term epidemic control with focus on filling existing HIV prevention, case finding, and treatment gaps, on building long-term sustainability to attain and maintain epidemic control.
This project will be implementing HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support services primarily among the female sex workers and their clients, male sex workers and their clients, men having sex with men, transgender people and people living with HIV and their partners and children in four districts of Koshi Province, namely Ilam, Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari, in close coordination with other partners/sub-partners, National networks of KPs/PLHIV and Community Based Organizations (CBOs).
AMDA-Nepal invites applications for the following positions from qualified Nepalese citizen on/before 18 September 2024 (2081 Ashoj 02) for the anticipated “USAID Sustainable HIV Epidemic Control Project” expected to commence on October 1, 2024 in Koshi province. The anticipated project period is 2 years, to be funded by USAID Nepal.

Key Responsibilities
- Assists service beneficiaries living with HIV to identify and overcome barriers that interfere with achieving health-related personal goals and to help ensure that they effectively navigate and remain within the continuum of HIV services.
- Provide education and support for ART enrollment, adherence and retention in treatment to service beneficiaries by visiting PLHIV in the community or at home (minimum 80 beneficiaries but not limited to)
- Support to promote messages on positive prevention, treatment literacy, adherence and retention using details strategic communication materials.
- Conduct quality of community care services including referral and follow up for community-led testing for HIV for Index testing and recording and reporting.
- Use digital information, education and communication (IEC) materials in mobile phone tablets.
- Support to conduct support group meeting, PGDs and/or creative events and S&D reduction training as needed.
- Promote Undetectable=Untransmittable (U=U), HIV self-testing community-led testing for HIV.
- Conduct HIV test for triage for partners, biological children and network members of HIV positive index clients in the community following National Community-led Testing Guidelines.
- Closely coordinate with Lab personnel for confirmatory HIV tests as needed.
- Provide education of nutrition, family planning, TB treatment, Gender-based violence including intimate partner violence, water and sanitation hygiene (WASH) as required. Refer as needed using updated referral directory.

Minimum Qualification:
- Minimum 8 class passed with minimum 2 years’ experience in PEPFAR supported HIV/AIDS, STI prevention program.
Preferences:
- Preference will be given to the candidates from KPs and PLHIV group.
- Knowledge of local languages will be beneficial.
- Advantage of two wheelers driving license holder.
- Female and local candidate will be given priority.
- Flexibility of working in off-hours (beyond standard office time) as needed
