Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Attending orthopedic and leprosy ward rounds for preoperative assessment and rehabilitation following surgery.
- Perform routine assessment, preoperative and postoperative assessment and plan operative exercise following leprosy RCS.
- Retrained patients to walk and use devices such as waking frames, crutches and wheelchairs to improve mobility.
- Making of splints and casts
- Field visit to outreach programs, satellite clinics, camps and community work.
- Supervision, participation and teaching of exercise (general & leprosy).
- Participate in Health education to patients admitted.
- Provide practical and theoretical teaching to persons visiting from another program.
- Participate in training sessions if requested by the training & technical center.
- Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in the patient’s medical file and system.
- Offer encouragement and motivation to patients dealing with long-term physical disabilities or slow recovery.
- Any other job as assigned by the reporting manager.
Person Specification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from recognized university and registered in the Nepal health professional council.
- Experience working as a physiotherapist.
- Good interpersonal skills, Administration skills.
- The ability to build and maintain rapport with patients.
- Teamwork skills.
- Good health and fitness.
- Tolerance and patience.
