Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  •  Attending orthopedic and leprosy ward rounds for preoperative assessment and rehabilitation following surgery.
  •  Perform routine assessment, preoperative and postoperative assessment and plan operative exercise following leprosy RCS.
  •  Retrained patients to walk and use devices such as waking frames, crutches and wheelchairs to improve mobility.
  •  Making of splints and casts
  • Field visit to outreach programs, satellite clinics, camps and community work.
  •  Supervision, participation and teaching of exercise (general & leprosy).
  •  Participate in Health education to patients admitted.
  •  Provide practical and theoretical teaching to persons visiting from another program.
  • Participate in training sessions if requested by the training & technical center.
  •  Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in the patient’s medical file and system.
  • Offer encouragement and motivation to patients dealing with long-term physical disabilities or slow recovery.
  • Any other job as assigned by the reporting manager.

Person Specification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from recognized university and registered in the Nepal health professional council.
  • Experience working as a physiotherapist.
  •  Good interpersonal skills, Administration skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain rapport with patients.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Good health and fitness.
  • Tolerance and patience.
