Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO) is a service oriented, scientific, and research-based national non-governmental organization working in the field of environment, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and public health in Nepal since 1990. ENPHO is constantly striving towards sustainable development, demonstration and dissemination of eco-friendly technologies. ENPHO promotes integrated community-based approaches for safe water, sustainable sanitation, improved hygiene behavior, clean air, and
safe living environment for creating healthy and environment friendly societies.
USAID Integrated Nutrition will be implemented in various districts across all seven provinces of Nepal. The primary goal of USAID Integrated Nutrition is to improve the nutrition status of women, adolescents, and children in Nepal’s underserved and marginalized communities. ENPHO will lead on WASH across all intermediate results, including the adoption of essential WASH and other healthy environmental actions under IR1 and IR3, WASH in health facilities under IR2 and WASH governance under IR4.

Private Sector Engagement Officer (WASH)

Duty Station: Kathmandu (with frequent visits to program districts)
The Private Sector Engagement (PSE) Officer – WASH will develop technical strategies and approaches for engaging private sector to ensure availability of appropriate and affordable WASH commodities contributing to the change in practices related nutrition-sensitive WASH behaviors. The PSE Officer will also enhance the capacity of consortium partners, local implementing partners and private sectors/ entrepreneurs through training, coaching and mentoring support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of PSE related interventions and approaches on WASH sector in coordination with the local governments, private sector actors and local entrepreneurs.
- Develop innovative and scalable PSE models to engage private sector actors in the WASH sector.
- Support the local government to develop the standard operating procedures, guidelines, and strategies for partnership and collaboration with private sectors on WASH sector.
- Support and strengthen capacity of private sectors and entrepreneurs on WASH sector to scale up their services and improve access to WASH commodities in the remote/ hard to reach areas and targeted marginalized and vulnerable population.
- Develop appropriate and localized social and digital marketing tools and products for the community level promotion of WASH services and commodities.
- Strengthen capacity through training, coaching and mentoring of consortium partners and local implementing partners staff for PSE on WASH sector.
- Document learning and stories of the PSE initiatives and success for wider sharing and replication.
Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing, business development, management or related field with three to five years of experience.
- Proven experience of working with private sectors and entrepreneurships development and social and digital marketing of services and products.
- High level of interpersonal skills in coordinating and maintaining positive working relationships withprivate sector and local entrepreneurs.
- Proactive in exploring partnership opportunities with private sectors and local entrepreneurs aligning with business plan and project of private sector.
- Excellent oral and writing skills on both English and Nepali.
