Position Overview

The Product Development Officer is responsible for driving the creation and development of innovative knitwear and woven products, ensuring they align with both market trends and client’s needs. This role involves coordinating sampling processes, conducting market research, managing photoshoot logistics, and serving as a key point of contact for new product inquiries.

Job responsibilities

• Manage the sampling process for new leads, including Proto’s and SMS, to ensure timely conversion from concept to sample.
• Plan and coordinate the production of samples during lean seasons to optimize resources and maintain workflow
• Oversee sampling for new styles for Tricot and its brands, ensuring they meet brand quality and design standards.
• Develop sample collections to be sent to buyers or presented during client meetings.
• Research new yarns and materials to incorporate into the product development, ensuring innovation and quality.
• Explore and analyze new styles for Tricot and its brands, keeping up with global fashion trends.
• Perform in-depth market trend analysis for the last three years to predict upcoming season trends, focusing on popular colours, necklines, sleeve styles, and other important details.
• Provide insights and reports on market trends to guide the design and development process.
• Take responsibility for the holistic product presentation, including social media, packaging, and other relevant areas that enhance product appeal.
• Collaborate with marketing and design teams to ensure the garment is presented effectively across all platforms.
• Coordinate logistics for photoshoots related to Tricot and its brands, including coding styles and ensuring all elements are organized and on schedule.
• Work closely with the logistics and marketing teams to streamline processes.
• Collaborate with design, production, and marketing teams to ensure seamless product development and launch.

Job Specifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, or a related field, or a related field. Experience working with international brands or clients and familiarity with sustainable practices in fashion and textiles.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in product development, preferably in the knitwear industries.
• Strong understanding of yarns, knitting techniques, and market trends.
• Excellent project management and coordination skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator) and familiarity with trend forecasting tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environmen
