With a primary goal of promoting human rights, health, education, community-based disaster risk reduction, and agricultural development, SOSEC Nepal implementing projects that address the genuine needs of communities, emphasizing skill development over mere input support. The organization operates in coordination & Collaboration with various donors and government agencies across districts in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, such as Dang, Salyan, Kapilvastu, Dailekh, Kalikot, Jumla, Surkhet, Jajarkot, Salyan, Rukum-west, and Achham. SOSEC Nepal strives to foster positive socio-economic and cultural change. We are following the zero-tolerance policy on violence against women, children and corruption.

SOSEC Nepal is implementing Hatemalo -Hamro Aawaaj, Hamro Sahabhagita in partnership with CBMGlobal Nepal with the objective of contributing to creating an equitable society where persons with disability can lead dignified lives. The project is implementing in four palikas (Narayan & Dullu Municipality and Bhairabi & Naumule Rural Municipality of Dailekh District.
For the implementation of Hatemalo Project, SOSEC Nepal is looking qualified, dynamic, competent, and self-motivated Nepali citizens for the following positions:

(1) Designation: Program Officer

Project/Program: Hatemalo -Hamro Aawaaj, Hamro Sahabhagita Project
Number of Position: One (1)

SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PROGRAM OFFICER
a) Planning, Monitoring, and Implementation:

  • Assist in developing project planning documents and monthly work plans.
  • Report achievements during weekly team meetings.
  • Ensure field-level implementation of project objectives.
  • Develop and adjust tools needed for project activities.
  • Support the development of participatory monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Prepare purchase requests and ensure the availability of necessary materials.
  • Collect, verify, and analyze field data to evaluate project performance.
  • Facilitate exchanges and linkages across different projects.
  • Ensure inclusion of marginalized groups in project interventions.
  • Identify and address barriers to inclusion.
  • Report to the Program Manager.

b) Capacity Development:

  • Conduct training needs analysis for the field project team.
  • Develop and implement appropriate training materials and tools.
  • Provide capacity building and coaching for community and staff.
  • Conduct assessments of team members.
  • Provide additional training to strengthen project interventions.
  • Identify potential stakeholders and maintain partnerships at the field level.
  • Participate in various coordination meetings to support project activities.

c) Communication, Networking, and Coordination:

  • Ensure compliance with internal regulations and security rules.
  • Maintain good internal communication and team spirit.
  • Communicate project achievements in regular coordination meetings.
  • Obtain necessary permissions from local authorities.
  • Enhance project and organizational visibility at various levels.
  • Organize awareness events and group discussions.
  • Develop and submit regular reports and statistical data as required.
  • Inform the Project Manager about field-level concerns and difficulties.
  • Contribute to analytical reports and future action plans.

d) Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in community development, social work, sociology, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience for Bachelor’s degree holders or 2 years for Master’s degree holders, working with NGOs or grassroots organizations.
  • Experience working with vulnerable groups and local authorities, particularly persons with disabilities.
  • Experience in conducting training and capacity building.

(2) Designation: Community Facilitator

SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMUNITY FACILITATOR
(a) Strategy and Programme Development

  • He/She would be responsible for engaging with of persons with disability, building relationships, and building trust. This involves understanding their needs, concerns, and aspirations.
  • Lead in the smooth implementation of the project activities in the field as per activity implementation guidelines, ensuring quality benchmarks.
  • Providing training and capacity-building support to OPDs, SHGs, community members, organizations, and relevant stakeholders on disability rights, accessibility, and inclusive practices.
  • Establishing partnerships with OPDs, CBOs, government agencies, and other stakeholders to leverage resources, expertise, and support for the project.
  • Ensure quality delivery of the project activities as planned way and perform regular home visit of person with disability, support network of person with disability to ensure the effective implementation of the planned activities.
  • Support in the development of required manuals, guidelines, and resource materials for community mobilization and conduction of training, facilitation, orientation and workshops as per the need of the project.
  • Work closely maintaining the professional relationship with the local government, especially in the R/M and ward level
  • Finalize field level document, collect data, involved in survey, finalize minutes, attendance, report, case/ success story and submit to program officer.
  • Facilitate the active participation of OPDs, SHGs, community members in project activities through effective communication and awareness-raising activities and coordination.

(b) Documentation and Reporting

  • Collect both qualitative and quantitative data from the field as and when required, assist on data processing and properly document them.
  • He/She is responsible for documenting all activities related to the project, including meetings, workshops, training sessions, and community engagement events. This documentation should be thorough and accurate, detailing what was discussed, decisions made, and any actions taken.
  • He/She should maintain detailed records of participants, including persons with disability, their specific needs, and any accommodations provided to ensure their full participation in project activities.
  • He/She will monitor the progress of the project, ensuring that it stays on track according to the project timeline and objectives. They should identify any challenges or obstacles that arise and work with the project team to address them promptly.
  • The primary responsibility of the facilitator is to assist in preparing regular event and monthly reports on the project’s progress. These reports will include updates on activities, achievements, challenges faced, and lessons learned.
  • Support to work in the compilation and development of project reports; the preparation of case stories; collection of feedback and learning for developmental evaluation; in coordination with the Program officer and Project Manager, MEAL and documentation teams.
  • Focused on evidence generation of the project actions.

(c) Coordination and Collaboration

  • Establish and maintain close collaboration with the Local Government and stakeholders of working Palikas.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Officers to ensure the successful implementation of the envisioned Hatemalo project.
  • Any other tasks developed during the implementation of the project.

(d) Sector Knowledge/competency:

  • Knowledge on empowerment approaches for Persons with Disability.
  • Basic understanding of Government policy, programmed priorities, needs and issues in relation the sector priorities
  • Basic understanding of issues of the persons with disability.

(e) Qualifications and Skills:

  • +2  (intermediate) level education in related field.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience in program management, preferably with an NGO.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Basic report writing and computer skill.
