Group of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-governmental and social development organisation founded in 1996. Since inception, the organisation has been working in remote rural areas focusing on vulnerable and socially excluded families who are deprived of development opportunities. SAHAS puts its development efforts towards strengthening the capacities of the communities and local development partner organisations to create an enabling environment for sustaining the development activities by fostering collective efforts of the communities themselves. SAHAS Nepal continues to use the “bottom-up”, “Rights-Based Approach (RBA)” and “inclusive community-based approach” to community development to identify and serve its target groups. At present, the organization is implementing several projects in a total of 22 districts of Nepal.

SAHAS Nepal has plan to implement the community development and climate resilient project in Kalikot and Jumla districts with the local partner named Karnali Resilience Initiative Nepal (KRIN). The project strives for making a climate resilient communities in 4 municipalities of Kalikot district-Mahabai RM and Tilagufa Municipality) and Jumla district (Tila RM and Hima RM) focusing on environmentally sustainable, economically sound, and climate resilient. This project aims to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable and marginalized communities through the use of inclusive and equitable and sustainable and climate-resilient interventions.

SAHAS Nepal and KRIN jointly are looking the potential candidates for the following positions:

Project Coordinator

Required Number: 1

Location: SAHAS Field Office, Jumla

Responsible to: Executive Director

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Master’s degree in Agriculture/Environment science from recognized university with 2 years’ experience or Bachelor degree in agriculture/environment/social science from recognized university with 5 years experiences
  • Experience in livelihood and climate resilient agriculture, carbon financing, carbon emission and clean and renewable energy
  • Experience of project management including planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting, coordination and networking with relevant stakeholders
  • Good skill in community development, empowerment, networking, lobby and advocacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Major responsibilities:

  • Coordination with stakeholders at Municipalities/Rural municipalities and province level
  • Conduct stakeholders’ consultation meeting at district and Municipalities levels
  • Submit project plan and budget
  • Staff monitoring and supervision
  • Attend various meetings at district and municipalities level
  • Conduct baseline survey and report preparation
  • Overall Project planning and implementation and monitoring of local partners and project activities
  • Organize capacity building training for staff and local partners
  • Submit quality project reports.
  • Management of project plan and budget and review periodically

Project Officer

Required Number: 2

Location: SAHAS Nepal Project Field Office, Jumla-1, KRIN Field Office, Kalikot-1

Responsible to: Project Coordinator

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture/environment science from recognized university with at least 2 years’ experience
  • Experience in technology efficiency test, climate change and resilience livelihood and agriculture, carbon emission, clean and renewable energy technologies
  • Good skill in community development, empowerment, networking, lobby and advocacy
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Knowledge on financial management and staff supervision and development
  • Good coordination, communication with community and different stakeholders
  • Fluent in oral and written Nepali and English language
  • Good coordination skills and efficient team player

Major responsibilities:

  • Conduct baseline survey and implementation of project activities
  • Provide technical support to the district project team in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the field activities in line with the project goal and objectives
  • Keep all the project staffs updated on project requirement, implementation guideline, tools and procedure for their understanding and use
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually report to the focal person
  • Review project budget, track the expenditure of budget regularly
  • Organise review meeting of the project at district, identify the gaps and issues and take the action accordingly for the further improvement
  • Coordinate with Municipalities, Rural Municipality level line agencies and organizations to develop the program activities.
  • Assist in the financial and administrative matter such as procurement process, human resource management and staff performance evaluation with capacity building

Management Information System (MIS) Officer

Required Number: 1

Location: Kathmandu

Responsible to: Project Coordinator

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/social science/Data Analyst or equivalent from a recognised university with at least 2 years of working experiences in monitoring, evaluation and data management
  • Fluent in oral and written Nepali and English language
  • Strong analytical and critical thinker
  • Good coordination skills and efficient team player
  • Good knowledge on program monitoring and data collections, data analysis and reporting
  • Proficiency in MS Office and demonstrated skills in statistical packages such as SPSS and Python

Major responsibilities:

  • MIS Officer will be responsible for the overall MIS functions of the project
  • Ensure that a MIS plan implemented, and data collection tools and data analyse
  • MIS Systems for reporting and support for an informed decision
  • Assist project team in project planning, monitoring tools, setting up timelines and measuring progress
  • Assist project team to collect data weekly and monthly, compile and analyse
  • Work closely with Project Coordinator and Project Officers to ensure that impact, outcome and output level indicators are reported and monitored
  • Collection of relevant data, development of case studies, pictures and video documentation
  • Coordination baseline, midline and end-line survey and prepare reports

Finance Officer

Required Number: 1

Location: SAHAS field Office, Jumla-1

Responsible to: Project Coordinator

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • BBS or BBA Accounts with 2 years’ experience/Intermediate or 10+2 in Business Management with at least 5 years in NGO finance
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, MS-Word, Power point, skills in Accounting Software like Moneyworks, FAMAS, Tally etc.
  • Strong commitment to team work with effective communication
  • Motivating leadership, interpersonal skills in languages and efficient team player

Major responsibilities:

  • Budget preparation and implementation
  • Implementation of the compliance of the government, funding partner and the organisation
  • Maintain financial management with monitoring and reporting
  • Financial reporting, analysis, monitoring and follow up of project activities
  • Conduct basic bookkeeping training and follow-up to Community based organizations (CBNOs)
  • Establish and maintain day to day financial accounts, financial management and reporting
  • Collect procurement request from staff and send for Procurement Committee and manage logistic related
  • Maintain safety, secure of the project assets, stock, and keep records of personal files, tax, Social Security Fund and other salary related information of the respective project
  • Supervision of partner bookkeeping and feedback for improvement

Climate Resilience, Child and Youth Rights Officer

Required Number: 1

Location: KRIN Project Field Office, Kalikot and Jumla

Responsible to: Project Coordinator

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work/Rural Development studies from recognized university with at least 2years’ experience in relevant sectors
  • Good skill in community development, networking, lobby and advocacy on environmental rights, rights and entitlement of children and youth.
  • Good communication, facilitation and analytical skills
  • Fluent in oral and written Nepali and English language
  • Good coordination, communication with stakeholders and efficient team playerMajor responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to the district project team in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the field activities in line with the project goal and objectives
  • Organize an orientation/training of Child Rights and Youth Rights policies and implement
  • Plan, organize and conduct the advocacy/orientation programs for youth and child on environmental rights and other entitlements.
  • Plan, organize and conduct the advocacy/orientation programs for women.
  • Keep all the project staffs updated on project requirement, implementation guideline, tools and procedure for their understanding and use

Required Number: 1

Location: KRIN Project Field Office, Kalikot

Responsible to: Project Officer

Academic qualification/experiences:

  • Intermediate or 10+2 in Business Management or equivalent degree from recognized university
  • At least 1 year of working experience in related field
  • Effective team player and can thrive under pressure
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, Ms-Word, Power point, skills in Accounting Software

Major responsibilities:

Establish and maintain day to day financial accounts, financial management and reporting
ensure accounting and documentation of all financial transactions are carried out accurately and in a timely manner
Implementation of the compliance of the government, funding partner, SAHAS and the organisation
Manage procurement and logistic related responsibilities
Maintain safety, secure of the project assets, stock, and keep records of personal files, tax, Social Security Fund and other salary related information of the respective project
Submit financial report every month to SAHAS Nepal
