Project Officer (PO)

Number of Position: 1

Duty Station: Based in Dhanusha with frequent travel to Project municipalities

Duration: Starting from August 2024, the initial contract will be for one year with the likelihood of extension contingent on satisfactory performance and resource availability.

About the Project

With support from Plan International Nepal, Support Nepal implements Girls Standing Strong (GSS) Project, aiming at having the girls and young women in all of their diversity reach their full potential as equal and active citizens. The purpose of the project is to facilitate in harnessing the aspirations of children, adolescent and young women (CAY), especially girls and young women whereby they live and lead their life with dignity. The project will directly serve to end child-marriage and force marriage. The project will be implemented in Dhanusha district of Madhesh Province.

General Responsibilities:

The main responsible of Project Officer (PO) is to work as project focal person for the allocated local government/s of GSS project. S/he should assist Project Coordinator (PC) for the project cycle management of GSS project in Dhanusha including planning and budgeting, implementation, monitoring and supervision, and reporting. S/he should support field supervisor for day to day project planning and implementation. S/he should coordinate key stakeholders including local governments, schools, health institutions, security agencies, child/girls/youth clubs/network and so on. S/he should support GESI and MERL Officer to prepare knowledge management products, project learning, and challenges.

Education and experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Public health, Sociology, Social Work, Rural Development, Development Studies, or other field with 3 years’ working experience in areas of integrated community development with right based approach focusing early childhood development, protection, girls and young women empowerment, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

Competences:

Sound management knowledge and skills of project staff mobilization, project planning implementation and monitoring.
Language: Ability to write clearly and concisely in English and Nepali knowledge on local language will be assets
Communication: Sound communication skills, managing work relationships (internal/external), coordination and networking.
Proven IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and skill of computer applications/
Two wheelers driving license required.
