Nepal Development Society (NeDS), in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University, is implementing a five-year research project aimed at scaling up an evidence-based task-sharing intervention with Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) to address hypertension, diabetes, and smoking cessation through stakeholder engagement in Pokhara Metropolitan City. We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic candidates for the following positions:
Project Officer
No. of Vacancy: 4
Location: Pokhara Office
Duration: 1 year with the possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and liaise with local municipalities, primary healthcare providers, and community health workers for the design and implementation of planned activities.
- Develop strategic plans and work packages for project implementation.
Identify and coordinate with municipal stakeholders and assist in establishing the technical advisory committee. - Support the establishment of the consumer advisory committee within the municipality.
- Organize and document regular meetings of both the technical and consumer advisory committees.
- Conduct system assessments and analyze data from the municipality to identify individuals living with hypertension and diabetes.
- Support research activities and data management.
- Collaborate with primary healthcare providers to design and execute capacity-building activities.
- Pre-test tools and conduct semi-structured interviews with stakeholders.
- Monitor, support, and build the capacity of research assistants in data collection and management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related discipline.
- At least two years of experience in the public health sector.
- Strong data management skills.
- Fluency in both English and Nepali.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Preference will be given to local candidates.
