Soiya Mahila Swabalambi Sanstha is looking for qualified, dynamic and self-motivated professionals who want to
devote their work life to improve the quality of education for community school students of Devdaha Municipality.
Particularly with a focus on the poor and marginalized. The project is funded by Danida (Foreign Ministry of
Denmark) and will be implemented in close cooperation with the local schools, municipality, parents, students and
Campus with full support and active participation of the Danish partner organization School life in Nepal.
(SMSS) is a nonprofit and non-government development organization based in Lumbini Province. SMSS focuses on
inclusive and quality education, agriculture and nutrition, governance and advocacy, and child rights and protection.

Project Officer/Coordinator -2

Location: Devdaha Municipality, Lumbini Province, Nepal Duration: 3 years with a possibility for
extension Employment Type: Full-time (No secondary job accepted)
Position Overview: SMSS is seeking two dedicated and dynamic Project Officer/coordinator to join our team for the
project “Sustainable Networks and Advocacy for Quality Education”. The project primarily
focusses on three stakeholder groups: Parents, Child Clubs and Teachers/school management.
As a program officer/coordinator you will be responsible for a stakeholder group primarily
through the training and mobilization of “peer-teams” to capacitate this group to inform and
engage their peers.

Key working areas:

  •  Participating in the creation of a user manual and activity catalogue for the stakeholder groups in cooperation
    with the schools, our Danish partner organization and relevant professionals.
  •  Mobilize, facilitate training for and support peer teams in order to enable them to convey information to the rest
    of the stakeholder group. Particularly with a focus on Quality Education, Inclusion and Child Rights.
  •  Coordination and supporting the peer teams to ensure high quality in their work with the primary stakeholders.
  • Monitoring the peer teams and stakeholder groups as per project log frame.
  • Maintaining a close coordination with all schools of Devdaha to ensure support and ownership of the intervention
    with the schools.
  • Participate in relevant network activities with other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  •  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
  •  Experience: Minimum of 2/3 years of experience working on projects related to education, community
    development or social change.
  •  Preference: Candidates with experience in peer-to-peer structures or with solid qualifications in coaching local
    stakeholders/providing training of trainers will be preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

  •  Strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the education system, child protection frameworks, and inclusive education practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
  • Strong writing and reporting skills.
  • Fluent in Nepali and English, both written and spoken.
  •  Proven IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
