NASPIR, founded in 2009, is a non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental organization (NGO) that acts as an umbrella for rehabilitation service providers in Nepal. Our commitment extends to providing high-quality rehabilitation services, strengthening the health system for rehabilitation nationwide, and empowering our members to ensure the sustainability of the rehabilitation sector. The organization is officially registered with the District Administration Office in Kathmandu under the 2034 organizational registration act in 2010.
NASPIR, in collaboration with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), professional associations, the Government of Nepal, and External Development Partners (EDPs), is committed to promoting the sustainability of rehabilitation services at both federal and provincial levels. This includes managing wheelchair projects and advocating for the long-term viability of the rehabilitation sector in Nepal. The organization is now seeking experienced and qualified candidates for the following position.
Rehabilitation Program Officer – 1 (one)
Key responsibilities: The Rehabilitation Program Officer will be responsible to oversee NASPIR’s project management activities to ensure effective delivery of goals and objectives; manage and deliver activity-based contracts with USAID’s Physical Rehabilitation Activity (PRA), ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations; oversee the Wheelchair Management project in collaboration with Free Wheelchair Mission (FWM) for efficient distribution and management of wheelchairs; involve coordinating with local, provincial, and federal stakeholders, including external development partners to promote rehabilitation inclusive health system initiatives; support NASPIR’s provincial chapters and Member PRCs, support to ensure the quality of services provided through NASPIR members; support advocacy initiatives in collaboration with NASPIR members, and strengthening coordination and collaboration among professional associations and networks related to rehabilitation services/sector.
Requirements: Applicants should hold at least Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation, Social Sciences, or a relevant field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related area. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge on rehabilitation related policies, services and provisions; possess strong project management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. The role requires frequent travel to various provinces to support NASPIR’s provincial chapters/ Member PRCs and delivering and monitoring project activities.
Additional Information:
Position is based in head office, Kathmandu. Salary and benefits package will be accordance with organization’s rule; Duration of the contract is a one year, renewable.
