Research Associate

ForestAction Nepal is implementing a three and half year long project on ‘forest landscape restoration’. The organization is looking for a young and dynamic candidate to support the project activities. The task includes frequent travel to the field, desk work and report writing, and support in developing communication materials targeting diverse audiences. Applications from interested and qualified candidates are welcome. The applicants are expected to have the following qualities:

a) Keen interest on theoretical and empirical ecology pertinent to forest ecology, succession, and biodiversity pattern and process over time and space;
b) Good command on open source statistical programs, for example R and Q Gis;
c) Ability to analyze ecological data of varying spatial scale (plots, forests to landscape)
d) Excellent writing skills and willing to work on quantitative data analysis

Desired qualification: MSc in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biodiversity Conservation, Forestry or any related subjects.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for written exams in Kathmandu. Details of written exam will be provided to shortlisted candidates only.
