Research Associate (Engineering Geology)
NDRI is an independent, non-profit institution dedicated to address the contemporary and emerging challenges through quality research for evidence based policy and programming. Established in 2004, NDRI comprises of an interdisciplinary team of experts with highest academic standings, and wealth of national and international experiences. NDRI focuses on creating opportunities for research, dialogue and collaboration. NDRI has been able to strengthen linkage between the policy makers, academia, different national and international organizations and a pool of experts.
To contribute to its Water and Climate Program and Disaster Management Program, NDRI is looking for an eligible candidate for the position of Research Associate. The Applicants are required to submit the application form via this Google Form no later than 5 July 2024, Friday at noon (12:00 pm) Nepal Standard Time.
Required Qualification and Experience
- Master’s degree in engineering geology, applied geology, hydrogeology or related field,
- Good background and interest in disaster (specifically landslides and floods) risk management studies,
- A good track record of grant proposal writing,
- Proficient and experience in using computer programming languages, especially Python and handling large datasets (preferred),
- Demonstrated skills and experience in using Google Earth Engine, GIS and Remote Sensing (preferred),
- Pleasant personality and team worker with good command of both English and Nepali languages,
- Experiences of maintaining national/international scientific communication.
