The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal is the field arm of Gurkha Welfare Trust UK, a registered charitable Trust working, particularly for the ex-Gurkha Veterans and their communities across Nepal. It is a
charitable institution that was established and registered in the UK in 1969.
We are currently seeking applications from qualified and committed individuals for the position of Residential Home Assistant (RH Asst), based at our Residential Home in Dharan.
Position: Residential Home Assistant
1. Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- Minimum Qualification of SLC/SEE
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in simple English
- Strong team player with a helpful nature
- Minimum knowledge in health and safety and dealing with vulnerable adult
- Experience in welfare-related functions is desirable
2. Key Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for providing support to residents in their daily activities. His/her duties include maintaining the cleanliness of the estate and complex, including residents’ rooms, daily. S/He perform various security and general duties, such as serving as an officer runner. Additionally, S/he accompany at hospitals during both day and night shifts when residents and rehabilitation patients are hospitalized. S/He also assist residents with mealtimes, bathing, shopping, recreational activities, gardening, and accompany them to hospital appointments, clinics, and outings as required. His/her responsibilities further extend to the daily upkeep of the estate, including offices, treatment rooms, rehabilitation areas, laundry rooms, duty rooms, toilets, and social areas.

3. Renumeration and Benefits:
The Residential Home Assistant falls in EG1 in our pay structure, with a basic monthly salary of NPR 42,009.
All other benefits and facilities will be provided in accordance with GWT(N) Standing Instructions.
The initial contract duration is three years, with the possibility of extension based on organisational needs and individual performance.
