Schools Fundraising Officer
ROLE PURPOSE / SUMMARY
The Schools Fundraising Officer will assist the stewardship and management of UWS’ global network of over 60 Partner Schools that raise funds and spread awareness to support UWS. Our partners include public and private Kindergartens to High Schools, as well as university clubs. Our Partner School Programme inspires and equips students and educators with the knowledge and skills they need to be global citizens and take action to support UWS. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and determined communicator who is eager to make a difference to deliver the ambitious next steps of the organisation’s growth. The nature of the position requires that the individual be an excellent communicator in English.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PARTNERSHIP MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
- Providing excellent stewardship and management of UWS’ 60 + Partner School relationships and ensuring these relationships are fully optimised. Developing proposals and stewardship plans to ensure efficient internal processes and to encourage Partner School retention.
- Recruit new schools to support UWS as per the targets
- Ensuring that our global Partner School network are kept engaged and up to date with the impact of their support
- Updating the UWS Partner School Portal website with news, human interest feature articles and learning and fundraising resources
- Producing newsletters, blogs and innovative initiatives and campaigns for school partners to engage with.
FUNDRAISING AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
- Preparing inspiring pitches, proposals, reports and other communication for Partner Schools whilst supporting the Partner School Director on the formation of larger proposals and pitches.
- Support with the formation of proposals and pitches to a range of donors and stakeholders in Nepal.
- Undertaking other fundraising administrative tasks, such as developing and keeping up to date the parts of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Any other responsibilities in line with their role and responsibilities as requested by the Fundraising Manager.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES
ESSENTIAL
- Excellent communication skills in Nepali and English, both written and oral; with the ability to influence, engage and build long-term relationships with a diverse range of donors, partners and stakeholders in Europe, the UK, United States and with international schools around the world.
- Exceptional attention to detail and an aptitude for writing creative narrative with demonstrated experience in preparing engaging pitches, proposals, reports and other communication for diverse audiences.
- Passion for education and international development.
- Strong skills in analysing and evaluating information, comfortable working with both quantitative and qualitative information from a variety of sources.
- A great organiser with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, and to effectively deliver against multiple priorities.
- Determined, persuasive, ambitious, flexible, and a proactive team player which means you commit and deliver for the cause.
DESIRABLE
- At least 2 years of experience in communications, fundraising, partnerships or a related field.
- Experience working in schools for children as a teacher is recommended.
- Strong understanding of developments in the fundraising sector, trends and innovative approaches to fundraising.
- Strong IT skills. Familiarity with Google suite and design tools (e.g. Canva/Adobe), website maintenance (e.g. Wix) and email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp) is desirable.
