Senior Program Officer

Maiti Nepal is announcing a vacancy for internal and external candidates for Senior Program Officer to undertake the following tasks and responsibilities.

  • Provide support and backstopping for assigned programs, ensuring all program objectives and goals are met
  • Track project deliverables and financial targets
  • Monitor project performance in the assigned topic
  • Prepare, review, and edit project progress reports (monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.) to ensure quality, and work with supervisor and field team to revise target goals if necessary
  • Frequent travel to the field to monitor program implementation and provide technical assistance
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops, as needed
  • Provide updates, reports, and critical analysis of field reports to the Deputy Director and Executive Director.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure effective support to the field, and to provide accurate information to the field regarding MN policies and regulations
  • Prepare program budgets.
  • Analyze work plans against project deliverables.
  • Participate in, coordinate and/or lead program development and proposal preparation efforts, as needed.
  • Report Writing
  • Project and proposal development
  • Fundraising and communication skills
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with the technical working groups/stakeholders and line agencies.
  • Proven skill in report writing and proposal writing.
  • Knowledge of Project Cycle Management, Logical Framework Approach, theory of change
  • Good computer skills (MS-Words, Excel, PowerPoint, email)
  • Profound networking and coordination skills.
  • A good team player.
  • Willing to work in tight deadlines and multiple project handling.

Academic qualification:

  • Master’s Degree in Humanities/Social Work and other relevant streams with at least three years of relevant work experience or bachelor’s degree in Humanities/Social Work and other relevant streams with five years of relevant work experience
