“Promoting Resilience and Enterprise Development through Local Resource Utilization in Nepal (PRERANA)” project is funded by Bayer Foundation, Bayer’s Social Innovation Program (SIP) and led by iDE, Nepal in Kaski and Syangja districts. LI-BIRD will implement this project in Machhapuchre and Madi Rural Municipalities of Kaski district. This project aims to improve resilience, health, nutrition, and economic prosperity at the household level by improving access to and equitable use of nutrition-specific, nutrition-sensitive, climate-resilience services and improving healthy habits and practices.

“Empowering and Innovative Designing for Protecting Nutrient Dense Food: Rural Market Development (RMD)” project is funded by USAID, Food System and Nutrition Innovation Lab (FSNIL) and led by iDE, Nepal in Kaski, Syangja, and Myagdi districts. LI-BIRD will implement this project in the same municipalities as PRERANA project. This project aims to strengthen the supply chain of nutrient-sensitive vegetables and fruits in rural Nepal markets by facilitating technology commercialization backed by research and adaptive, human-centered design principles.

Senior Programme Officer (Level 8) -1, PRERANA and RMD Project, based at LI-BIRD Head Office, Ranipauwa )

Job Summary: Reporting to the Team Leader, Senior Programme Officer (SPO) is primarily responsible for leading the field implementation of the PRERANA and RMD projects – providing overall leadership and management of the project in Kaski district. The key duties of SPO includes project planning, implementation and coordination, monitoring and quality control, and data management, synthesis and report writing, and communication, linkages, and networking. The SPO will supervise the field-based staff and will be be responsible for ensuring that the project activities contribute to the overall project goal, objectives, and outcomes. The SPO is also required to coordinate with the local and provincial governments and district line agencies and other key stakeholders in planning and implementation of the project to ensure adequate programme synergies, resource leveraging and scaling up of potential innovations.

Education and Experience: Master’s in agriculture with a major in agri-business, soil-science, agroecology or other relevant subjects with three years of work experience.
