Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree, diploma in Mechanical Engineering, and ITI Draftsman in or a related field is typically required.
Minimum Experience: 5 years of experience working as a Mechanical Draftsman in an industrial setting, preferably within a cement factory or similar heavy industry.
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Draftsman is a crucial member of the Mechanical Engineering team in our Cement Factory. This role is responsible for producing precise and detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and designs for the construction, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment within the factory. The Mechanical Draftsman must have a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, and a keen eye for precision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical Drawings: Create accurate and highly detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for various mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery used in cement manufacturing.
- CAD Proficiency: Utilize CAD software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, to generate 2D and 3D models and designs, ensuring that they meet industry standards and specifications.
- Product Development: Collaborate closely with the engineering team to assist in the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions aimed at enhancing efficiency, safety, and reliability within the cement production process.
- Material Selection: Participate in the selection of appropriate materials and components for mechanical designs, considering factors such as cost-effectiveness, durability, and performance.
- Design Enhancements: Contribute to the evaluation of existing mechanical systems and equipment, proposing design modifications to improve performance, reliability, and maintenance.
- Documentation Management: Maintain an organized and comprehensive library of mechanical drawings and technical documentation, ensuring they are kept up-to-date and easily accessible to relevant personnel.
- Quality Control: Conduct rigorous reviews and quality checks on drawings and designs to ensure precision, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments, including manufacturing, maintenance, and operations, to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical systems into the production process.
- Cost Estimation: Assist in the estimation of costs for mechanical projects, providing valuable input on material, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Compliance and Safety: Stay abreast of industry regulations and safety standards, ensuring that all mechanical designs and drawings are in full compliance with applicable codes and guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement within the mechanical department.
