Position Summary
Shift Brewer will be responsible for the brew house, fermenting, filtration and brewing operations
Major Roles And Responsibilities (Job Details)
- Wort production including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpool, grain-out, setup and handoff to the next shift brewer
- Managing and running brew house, Fermenting, Filtration, and Blending processes and operations
- Accurately record all aspects of the brew to track production operations and inventory
- All aspect of cellar work including but not limited to: yeast handling, cleaning and sanitization of transfer lines, and Clean-in-Place (CIP) of brewery vessels
- Follow all cleanup procedures post brewing/cellar operations Brew beer precisely according to the written recipe and SOP Constant communication with our head brewer/quality manager to ensure our beer meets internal quality standards
- Involves recording, troubleshooting, temperature, and flow monitoring, communication, supplying lines with material or product, cleaning, sanitation, and foaming. Sanitation involves the complete cleaning of all the equipment within the facility.
- Raw materials monitoring, receiving, and handling for Brewing and Blending processing.
- Perform quality checks, testing, and complete paperwork as required.
- Perform work and cleaning in confined space areas
- Must be able to make equipment and product changeovers using tools as needed.
- Assist other operators and departments in training, repair work, and equipment operation as needed.
- Assist with supporting overtime as needed to cover varying production needs.
- Responsible for the daily completion of tasks integral to the operation and overall performance of the Brewery.
- Collaborate with production team, monitoring brewing and processing of batches to control quality, consistency and efficiency
- Follow written SOP’s; accountable for SOP execution, maintain highest safety standard.
- Communicate daily with Production Manager and Head Brewer on scheduled tasks, issues encountered, and priorities
