About SOS Bahini

SOS Bahini is a women-led, grassroots organization based in Pokhara, Nepal, founded in 2004. Its mission is to protect and empower vulnerable girls, adolescents, and single mothers. The name “SOS Bahini” stands for “Save Our Sisters”, with Bahini meaning “little sister” in Nepali – symbolizing the organization’s deep commitment to care, protection, and sisterhood.

Founded by women from diverse professional backgrounds – nurses, lawyers, teachers, social workers, and entrepreneurs – SOS Bahini works to combat exploitation, violence, discrimination, and human trafficking. Its flagship initiative, the Eco-Village, is a peaceful and nurturing environment that includes children’s home, a training center, and a unique family model where single mothers serve as caregivers to groups of girls. In addition to the Eco-Village, SOS Bahini runs the Crossroads House, supporting young women in professional training or higher education, and the Educare system, which enables children to pursue education while remaining within their families and communities.

Through care, stability, and opportunity, SOS Bahini fosters a deep sense of belonging and resilience – helping girls and women overcome trauma and build brighter, independent futures.

Position Summary

During this period, the PM will become familiar with SOS Bahini’s programs, liaise with the Board, staff, and CHL, and ensure the proposal reflects the organization’s vision and operational realities.
