The Safer Migration (SaMi) Programme Phase IV (2024-2028) is a bilateral initiative of the governments of Nepal and Switzerland designed to support the consolidation of the 12 years of partnership in safer migration, the institutionalization of safer migration related services as well as the strengthening of the capacities of the three levels of government to effectively take over the complete management, financing and quality assurance of all the programme components. Helvetas Nepal provides technical assistance to the programme on behalf of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). Helvetas Nepal invites applications from competent Nepali citizens for the following position:

Team Leader

Job Purpose: Lead the expansion, consolidation, institutionalization of the SaMi programme, and ensure smooth exit from the technical assistance as per the bilateral agreement and the program document. Provide strategic direction to the programme team to accomplish the objectives and targets as stipulated in the programme document. Identify strategic entry points for successful institutionalization of migration services, such as legal or policy, budget, human resources and bring them for decision-making into the steering committee meetings at the provincial and federal level. Ensure effective Human Resource management, efficient project’s finance and administration management, and stakeholder management. Lead the process of developing a yearly plan of operation of the program, effective implementation, monitoring and quality reporting. Maintain excellent coordination and communication with all concerned stakeholders at federal, provincial, and local level.

Required Education, Experience, and Social Competence: Master’s degree in relevant discipline. Minimum 10 years working experience in the field of development with at least 3 years of dedicated experience in managing project(s), its human resources, finance, administration, and partner management. Working experience in the migration, employment, governance or private sector development sector will be an advantage. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion, and poverty reduction is a requirement.

Duty Station: Programme Support Unit, Safer Migration (SaMi) Programme, Helvetas Nepal, Lalitpur with frequent travel to the programme areas.
