Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research, and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara and Programme Coordination Office in Lalitpur. LI-BIRD is committed to capitalizing on local initiatives for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and improving the livelihoods of rural people in Nepal.

LI-BIRD is planning to implement a project entitled “Empowered communities and CSOs for inclusive nutrition governance in the hilly and mountain regions of Western Nepal” funded by EU from January 2025 to June 2028. The project aims to strengthen sustainable and inclusive nutrition governance through an effective implementation of the Multi-Sector Nutrition Plan III. Specifically, the project will support local governments for strengthening local food systems and equitable access to high-quality nutrition services in 10 municipalities of Achham and Bajura districts of Sudurpaschim Province.

Team Leader (Level 9) – 1 to be based at Programme Coordination Office, Sanepa, Lalitpur

Job Summary: Reporting to the Programme Operation Director, the Team Leader (TL) will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of the project by providing a strong leadership in planning, execution, monitoring, coordination, capacity building and ensuring compliances. This also involves effective documentation and reporting of the project in line with the objectives, time frame and budget to achieve project outcomes. The TL needs to ensure efficient management of project resources, including human and financial, building and managing relationships and partnership with stakeholders, including donors, local, provincial and federal governments, CSOs and networks for leveraging resources, building synergies and fostering joint actions with a focus on food and nutrition system strengthening at the local level.

Education and Experience: Master’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized university in the field of nutrition, public health, agriculture and foods, or any related field, with 5 years of work experience in managing nutrition, WASH, and livelihood related projects. Experience of working and managing multisectoral consortium projects funded by the EU or other European Donors will have an added advantage.
