Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu, Nepal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Travel Assistant (Military Travel Assistant). This vacancy is open to all interested applicants.

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

The incumbent is responsible for managing all administrative and budgetary details of travel within the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) and for all its Departments of Defense (DOD) funded international travelers. The incumbent acts as contractor liaison for DOD sponsored exercises within host nation. The incumbent works as assistant ODC accountant for all ODC property, monitors stock level of ODC expendable supplies and orders replacements based on the ODC Chief’s needs. The incumbent works closely with ODC Chief in financial planning and administrative procedures. Assists ODC Chief in executing the International Military Education and Training (IMET) program and other training programs. The incumbent assists ODC Chief assess English comprehension during English Comprehension test, as well as serve as a testing assistant

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years of experience in travel administration or financial or budget management is required

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Working knowledge of domestic and international travel requirements is required. Knowledge of host country’s military structure, country’s social, business, political, and diplomatic customs is required

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in management/Business/Economics/Accounting/Finance is required.

LANGUAGE: Fluent speaking/reading/writing English is required. Fluent speaking/reading/writing Nepali is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
