Summary:
The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu, Nepal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Public Engagement Assistant (Experiential Learning Coordinator). This vacancy is open to all interested applicants.
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties
The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Emerging Voices (EV) Specialist. The incumbent coordinates Mission Public Diplomacy outreach to Emerging Voices audiences through Experiential Learning (EXPL) projects and events, typically “learning through experience” activities such as tech or entrepreneurship camps. music and sports programs, journalism training, and other focused community engagement programs. The incumbent designs, develops, identifies co-sponsors and funding sources, plans and oversees a range of outreach activities in support of Mission goals.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
For the experience and education requirements applicants must meet either option 1 or option 2.
Option 1
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a multilingual, multicultural, multinational, government or museum environment with marketing, public relations, communication, or education duties as a significant part of the job is required.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, International Relations, or Business Management is required.
OR
Option 2
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a multilingual, multicultural, multinational, government or museum environment with marketing, public relations, communication, or education duties as a significant part of the job is required.
EDUCATION: Two years of University Study in any field is required.

These may be tested (Language, Skills and Abilities).
LANGUAGE: Fluent speaking/reading/writing English is required. Fluent speaking/reading/writing Nepali is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Good analytical, communication, management and interpersonal skills are required. Good data entry skills, excellent familiarity with electronic tools, and standard information retrieval practices and procedures are required. Thorough knowledge and ability to use various computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, database software and reporting tools is required. Must have familiarity in using social media and mobile platforms, podcasts, basic photo and video tools to generate group interest and participation. Must be available to travel throughout Nepal to support Experiential Learning projects and activities.
Qualifications:
All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
