Position: Senior Officer – Purchase & Logistics
Job Location: Birgunj
Job Purpose
To ensure timely and cost-effective procurement and smooth inbound logistics by managing suppliers, import logistics & customs clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities including supplier sourcing, negotiation, PO issuance, and follow-ups
- Coordinate import logistics, customs clearance, and inbound transportation
- Prepare and submit customs documents and ensure VAT, excise, and customs compliance
- Monitor inbound shipments to avoid delays and demurrage
- Coordinate with Warehouse, Quality, and Accounts for inspection, unloading, and billing
- Forecast logistics and customs costs and handle claims for shortages or damages
- Maintain complete procurement and customs documentation
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field; Masters Preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in procurement, import logistics, and customs handling
- Knowledge of LC processes, customs regulations, and documentation
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, VAT, excise, and LC processes
- Good negotiation, coordination, and documentation skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
