Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer will be based at the Corporate Office, Kathmandu, supporting electrical engineering activities across multiple hydropower and solar power projects. The role involves reviewing electrical designs, drawings, and technical documents to ensure compliance with project specifications, grid codes, and safety standards. The position will coordinate closely with project teams, consultants, and contractors for effective execution of electrical works. The engineer will provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases as required. The role also focuses on ensuring quality, safety, and timely implementation of electrical systems across all projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Review electrical designs, drawings, layouts, and technical documents for hydropower and solar projects
2. Review of electrical documents of hydropower projects after feasibility stage
3. Updating of drawings and documents for Detailed Design Reports (DDR)
4. Assist in preparation of electro-mechanical bid documents and tender documents
5. Support in transmission line detailed design and documentation
6. Preparation of technical documents for solar projects as per NEA and DoED requirements
7. Coordinate with site electrical engineers and project teams for smooth execution
8. Support consultants, EPC contractors, and utility authorities on technical matters
9. Participate in design review meetings and technical discussions
10. Prepare technical specifications and BOQs for electrical equipment
11. Review technical bids, drawings, and vendor submittals
12. Ensure electrical installations follow approved drawings and safety standards
13. Support testing, commissioning, and grid synchronization activities
14. Assist in preparation of project reports and documentation
15. Carry out regular site visits based on project requirements.

Qualifications

•  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 3-4 years of experience in hydropower or solar projects.
•  Experience in electrical design coordination, site execution and commissioning preferred.

Required Skills

• Exposure to grid interconnection and protection systems will be advantage.
• Strong understanding of power generation and distribution systems
•  Knowledge of hydropower plant and solar electrical systems
•  Ability to read and review engineering drawings and technical documents
•  Good coordination, communication, and reporting skills
