JOB OPPORTUNITY
Position: Driver
Location: Kathmandu
The Driver is responsible to drive Ipas Nepal’s vehicle and ensure that the vehicle is in proper condition. S/he should ensure cleanliness of the vehicle on daily basis and oversee routine maintenance and servicing of the vehicle.
Driving Services
- Provide safe and reliable driving services for Ipas staff within city areas and outside the Kathmandu Valley, as required.
- Ensure the internal and external cleanliness of vehicles and motorbikes at all times.
- Ensure adequate fuel availability in vehicles for daily operations.
- Use the shortest, safest, and most efficient routes, avoiding unnecessary mileage and time.
- Conduct daily vehicle condition checks, including brakes, lights, indicators, radiator, battery, tire pressure, engine oil (mobil), fuel level, and overall roadworthiness.
- Provide pick-up and drop-off services for staff, visitors, and guests as requested by the office.
- Coordinate with the security focal point and traffic control prior to starting trips, when required.
- Strictly follow traffic rules, organizational norms, and Ipas values at all times.
- In the event of an accident, follow established procedures, immediately notify the supervisor/office, and provide necessary assistance.
- Ensure the vehicle is equipped with all required safety tools, including a toolbox, safety items, and a fully stocked first-aid kit.
- Follow up on regular servicing of vehicles and motorbikes at reputable service outlets, including timely replacement of parts such as air filters, engine oil, and other required components.
- Maintain accurate records of fuel refueling, repairs, maintenance, and parts replacement in the vehicle logbook.
- Complete and submit Ipas standard travel logs promptly after each trip.
- Ensure timely renewal of vehicle and motorbike documents, including blue books, pollution checks (green stickers), and other regulatory requirements.
- Follow up on provincial motorbike blue book renewals in compliance with applicable legislation.
- Monitor and calculate fuel consumption and mileage, ensuring proper documentation and comparison through logbooks.
Administrative Support
- Provide support for photocopying, scanning, binding, and replacement of toner/cartridges for photocopiers and printers.
- Offer logistical support for workshops, meetings, trainings, and seminars.
- Handle errands with banks, NTC, drinking water offices, CIT, PF, SSF, tax offices, and other relevant institutions for official transactions.
- Deliver and collect official documents, letters, parcels, pouches, and other materials to and from partner organizations, government offices, donors, and vendors.
- Receive incoming phone calls and relay messages in the absence of the receptionist.
- Support store operations, including physical verification of items, preparation, packing, and timely placement of materials as required.
- Understand and comply with the organization policies and ethics
- Understand and comply with the Human Resources, Procurement, Travel, Finance Policy, and other policies of the organization.
- Commitment and adherence to the Ipas code of business ethics and conduct and safeguarding policy.
- Ensure Ipas representatives (including consultants, interns, volunteers, independent contractors, suppliers/vendors, board members, sub-awardees) and government officials directly working with Ipas and its partners understand and practice the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse policy while in partnership and implement program with Ipas.
- Contribute to safe working environment where every team member is treated equally and respectfully.

- Ensure all work activities comply with the organization rules and regulations
- Ensure proper documentation of memo’s, decisions, reports and any official documents for record keeping hardcopy/OneDrive/Luna as appropriate.

- Engage in a learning culture and participate and enrol learning courses of Ipas University.
- Willing to be back up for staff and vacant positions and perform other related duties as required.
