Position: Cluster Medical Lead (CML)
Location: Butwal
The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal is the field arm of The Gurkha Welfare Trust UK, a registered charitable Trust working, particularly for the ex-Gurkha Veterans and their communities across Nepal. It is a charitable institution that was established and registered in the UK in 1969.
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified, committed, and eligible individuals for the position of Cluster Medical Lead (CML), based at our Key Area Welfare Centre (KAWC) Butwal.
1. Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- Must have qualified as a Medical Doctor (MBBS or equivalent) with minimum 5 years work experience post-graduation. Additional Post Graduate qualifications (MD in GP or Internal Medicine) preferred.
- Current unrestricted registration with Nepal Medical Council (NMC).
- Working knowledge and application of relevant Country legislation governing Medical Service Delivery.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, paying careful attention to detail and managing multiple tasks.
- Able to work effectively with both medical and non-medical staff.
- Showing proactiveness and solutions focused.
2. Key Responsibilities:
The CML is overall responsible for implementing Clinical Governance in his/her Cluster in accordance with all GWT(N) Standards of Medical Service delivery, Quality Standards, Disease Management Guidelines, professional standards, Policies and Procedures. S/he is responsible for the Clinical
Outcome of all patients under the care of the Cluster’s Mobile Health Practitioners, Cluster Doctors and Cluster Rehabilitation Therapists. The role involves direct patient care in clinics and home visits, frequent travel within the region, integrated care planning, liaison with external providers and
various professional groups and direct line management of 10 – 20 staff members of different medical professions.

3. Renumeration and Contract:
The position falls in EG7L1 in our pay structure, with a basic monthly salary of NPR 214,702. All other benefits and facilities will be provided in accordance with GWT(N) Standing Instructions. The initial contract duration is three years, with the possibility of extension based on organisational needs and individual performance.
