Job Title: Assistant Agriculture Technician (AAT)

Program Overview:
NLRP-II aims to enhance the social well-being and resilience of vulnerable farming households and communities through five interconnected pillars. It promotes food security and climate resilience by encouraging climate-smart and sustainable agriculture practices. The program also strengthens livelihoods through skill development, enterprise support, and market linkages, while improving cooperative systems with better governance, transparency, and capacity building.
In addition, NLRP-II emphasizes social protection and inclusion by ensuring access to safety nets and promoting gender equality, disability inclusion, and social justice. It also focuses on the realization of child rights by creating safe, child-friendly environments and improving access to education, health, and protection services. The program adopts participatory, community-led approaches such as “learning by doing” and Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) to empower communities and ensure sustainable impact.
Position Overview:
The AAT will support the implementation of agriculture and livelihood activities under the NLRP–II in Ward No. 2 and 5 of Kanakai Municipality. The position focuses on strengthening farmers’ capacity through practical learning approaches such as Farmer Field School (FSS) / Student Farmer Field School (SFFS) and promoting improved, climate-resilient agricultural practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must have completed Diploma in Agriculture from a recognized institution or TSLC/Pre-Diploma (at least 18 months) in Plant or Animal Science.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in project implementation, preferably with exposure to Integrated Pest Management- Farmers Field School (IPM-FFS) in NGOs or government programs.
- Good understanding of the role of cooperatives in community development and knowledge of child protection systems.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating trainings and mobilizing community groups.
- Fluency in both written and spoken Nepali and English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
- Familiarity with the local context, culture, and practices of Jhapa district is preferred.
- Valid two-wheeler driving license required.
