Posiiton: Production & QC Head
Location: Kathmandu

Job Summary

The QC & Production Head is responsible for managing overall production and quality operations. The role ensures timely production as per sales demand while maintaining quality standards, optimizing resources, and ensuring compliance with food safety and company procedures. The incumbent oversees production planning, quality control, batch-wise production, pest control, labor management, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Operations

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts and customer demand.
  • Ensure timely execution of production schedules while optimizing manpower, machinery, and resources.
  • Monitor batch-wise production to ensure accuracy, traceability, and adherence to production standards.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, and Stores to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Continuously improve production efficiency and minimize downtime.

2. Quality Control & Quality Assurance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality standards across all manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct quality inspections of raw materials before production.
  • Ensure in-process quality checks during production.
  • Verify finished goods quality before dispatch or storage.
  • Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain product consistency across all batches.

3. Raw Material & Finished Goods Quality

  • Approve incoming raw materials based on defined quality parameters.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Monitor product shelf life, packaging quality, and overall product standards.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding quality-related issues whenever required.

4. Production Coordination

  • Coordinate with Sales to understand demand forecasts and priority orders.
  • Work closely with Procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse and Logistics for smooth dispatch of finished goods.
  • Ensure production targets are achieved without compromising quality.

5. Pest Control & Hygiene Compliance

  • Supervise pest control activities across all production and storage areas.
  • Ensure implementation of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain records of pest control inspections and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

6. Labor Management

  • Plan and allocate labor according to production requirements.
  • Monitor labor productivity and attendance.
  • Coordinate with HR for labor onboarding, documentation, deployment, and compliance.
  • Ensure proper discipline, safety practices, and adherence to company policies on the production floor.

7. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain batch manufacturing records and quality documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation of production reports, quality reports, and inspection records.
  • Support internal and external quality audits.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable food safety, manufacturing, and statutory regulations.

8. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, product quality, and cost optimization.
  • Reduce wastage, rework, and production losses through process improvements.
  • Introduce best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for continuous operational excellence.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in food technology, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Quality Management, or related discipline.
  • Additional certifications in Quality Management, HACCP, GMP, ISO, or Food Safety will be an advantage.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in production and quality management within the FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging, or related manufacturing industry.
  • Experience managing multiple production units or manufacturing plants is preferred.
