CWISH

Children-Women in Social Service and Human Rights (CWISH), a non-profit civil society organization established in 1993 with an aim to ensure social justice, protection and promotion of human rights especially the rights of children and youths, invites applications for short term post: Psychosocial Counselor -2 person from interested and eligible candidates (Nepali citizens only) who are reliable, accountable, and have ability to deliver results with highest level of integrity.

With the aim to contribute CWISH goal, the vacancy is called for Bhotekoshi Flood Emergency Response for Children a project in two Rural Municipalities of Nuwakot District, (Belkotgadi Municipality and Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality) for the period of 3.5 months (25 Sept 2026 to 14 Jan 2027) funded by KNH Germany. The project aims to provide timely, inclusive and protection-sensitive humanitarian assistance to flash-flood affected children and vulnerable families, while supporting children’s safety, psychosocial wellbeing and continuity of learning and recreation.

Job Summary:

Psychosocial Counselor is responsible for monitoring children’s wellbeing in the intervention area of CWISH and identify and refer children requiring specialized protection, health or psychosocial services.

Key qualification and competencies

  • At least Intermediate in any field of studies or relevant area.
  • Training in psychosocial counselling from recognized authorities or institutions.
  • Experience in working with children in vulnerable situations and in disaster is preferred.
  • Preference for knowledge on Child Rights, child protection, child friendly local governance
  • Need to have good interpersonal skills such as excellent communication, empathy, committed to work with children and vulnerable families.
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively and effectively as a part of team and capacity to collaborate with line agencies including municipalities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Receiving the cases, addressing the first initial concern of the children, filling out the intake form, recording and referring to the concerned services within the organization and referral mechanism
  • Provide emergency support to the cases of violence against children and affected by of Bhotekoshi Flood.
  • Provide psychosocial care and support through in person and distance counselling services if needed.
  • Prepare the report of cases details received and services provided by the organization on monthly.
  • Collect case and success stories in sufficient numbers to verify the results reported.
  • Systematize the documentation of reports of counselling with appropriate coding and both qualitative and quantitative reporting.
  • Prepare Case management plan, implement and follow up. Coordinate with the relevant stakeholders in child protection issues.
  • Support the children in Child Friendly Space (CFC) managed by CWISH in respective municipalities.
