Position: GEDSI Database Officer

Location – Kathmandu

Duration: Fixed-term (as per project period)

Reports to: Senior Program Coordinator/ DRR Technical Lead

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Primary Role:

Lead the development and operationalization of GEDSI-responsive data systems and visualization tools for disaster preparedness, response and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and conduct capacity building programmes on inclusive data management, targeting:
• DRR focal points, cluster information managers, and local volunteers.
• Support in developing methodologies and tools for:
• GEDSI-disaggregated data collection and analysis.
• Inclusive data visualization and information sharing platforms.
• Rapid GEDSI assessments (IRA/MIRA) and situation reporting.
• Coordinate the creation and validation of GEDSI data profiles for each targeted province and municipality, including:
• Mapping of essential services for vulnerable groups (e.g., women with disabilities, LGBTIQ+ persons, elderly, GBV survivors).
• Integration of visualized data into provincial and municipal Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs).
• Support post-disaster GEDSI assessments and contribute to monthly municipal analysis and follow-up actions.
• Ensure data outputs align with UN Women’s global standards for inclusive and ethical data.

Qualifications:

• Master’s in data science, statistics, disaster management or relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in inclusive data collection, analysis, and visualization in humanitarian or DRR contexts.
• Familiarity with GIS tools, risk information platforms, and data protection protocols.
