Position: Assistant Manager – Sourcing

Position Overview

This position will be responsible for managing sourcing operations across F & V and FMCG categories with precision, insight and impact.

Roles and Responsibilities

  •  Responsible of managing the company’s supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending.
  •  Ensure effective category management of F & V and FMCG products by identifying growing area, varieties, growing practices, consumption pattern, pricing, sources to fulfill the demand.
  • Liaise with Research & Development function in coordination with vendors in case of sourcing of FMCG and coordinate with farmers in case of sourcing of fruits and vegetables.
  •  Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and logistics process and suggest methods to decrease expenditure.
  •  Invent negotiation strategies and secure profitable deals.
  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers.
  •  Negotiate the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
  •  Execute and coordinate all activities related to procurement of a commodity enrolled in our SKU to ensure regular supply chain of the product without any shortages.
  •  Keep abreast track of minimum stock level and maintain reorder levels for each product SKU in all delivery zones.
  •  Research and identify new vendors or farmers or other sources to build effective sourcing strategies.
  •  Efficiently manage vendor and farmer relations, resolves disputes and explore potential suppliers to build a database for regular supply.
  •  Implement company’s Quality SOP at supplier level and ensure quality control, commodity rejections during inward of goods.
  •  To estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques in relation to strategic sourcing to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  •  Implement purchase contracts with vendors or farmers that comply with company and government regulations.
  •  Research regularly and provide realistic, thoughtful, and candid insights into relevant business matters.

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Management or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in the relevant field.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Understanding of FMCG sales and supply chain dynamics
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  •  Strong analytical skill.
  •  Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive.
  •  Ability to work independently and within a team.
  •  Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  •  Familiarity with distribution networks and operations.
