JOB DESCRIPTION OF ACCOUNTS OFFICER

Roles and responsibilities:

We are seeking a competent, detail-oriented, and experienced Accounts Officer to oversee and manage the Company’s financial and accounting operations. This is an urgent requirement for a Management Consultancy & Trading business. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with Nepalese taxation laws, maintain accurate financial records and provide strategic financial insights to support organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recording daily financial transactions & bookkeeping and oversee & manage overall accounting and financial operations.
  • Maintain proper accounting documentation and financial records.
  • Record daily sales entries and prepare VAT Bills & filing monthly VAT returns.
  • Manage inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
  • Maintain accounts in accounting software.
  • Handle daily cash transactions and maintain petty cash.
  • Perform monthly cash reconciliation and prepare bank deposits
  • Handle VAT, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements and ensure compliance with Nepalese taxation laws & IRD regulations and coordinate with regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain the payroll accounts by preparing & verifying employee expense reports, advances, and other routine documentation.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and ensure accurate bookkeeping.
  • Support audit processes and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (BBA/BBS or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance.
  • Adequate knowledge of Nepalese Taxation as per IRD Rules with hands-on accounting experience.
  • Proficient in accounting software with thorough knowledge of its functions.

Required Knowledge, Competencies & Skills:

  • Must be at least 20 years old.
  • Sound understanding of banking credit facilities and margin lending.
  • Strong fund management and financial reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in any accounting software and advanced MS Excel & MS Word.
  • Ability to coordinate and liaise with banks and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
  • Ability to work under pressure independently and meet reporting deadlines.
  • Must possess a valid two-wheeler driving license.
