JOB OPPORTUNITY
Position: Chief Financial Officer
Location: Kathmandu, Nepal (with potential travel across Nepal and international operations)
Job Type: Full-Time, Executive Level

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and execute the group’s financial strategy aligned with business objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning for diversified business units.
- Capital Management & Fundraising: Oversee capital structure, debt financing, equity raises, and treasury operations; lead interactions with banks, financial institutions, private equity firms, and international lenders to secure funding for expansions, acquisitions, and infrastructure projects.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Establish and maintain enterprise-wide risk management frameworks, including forex, credit, and market risks; ensure compliance with Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) regulations, Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), tax laws (Inland Revenue Department), IFRS/NEPAL GAAP, and anti-money laundering standards.
- M&A and Investment Decisions: Evaluate and execute mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures; conduct due diligence, valuation modeling, and post-merger integration for cross-sector opportunities.
- Financial Reporting & Analytics: Lead preparation of consolidated financial statements, management reports, and KPI dashboards; implement advanced analytics, AI-driven forecasting tools, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP/Oracle) to enhance decision-making.
- Tax Planning & Optimization: Design tax-efficient structures for domestic and international operations, including transfer pricing, GST/VAT compliance, and incentives under Nepal’s Investment Board Act.
- Investor & Stakeholder Relations: Manage relationships with shareholders, board members, auditors (Big 4 preferred), and rating agencies; prepare materials for board meetings, annual general meetings, and investor roadshows.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team of 100+ professionals across subsidiaries; promote a culture of ethics, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Sustainability & ESG Integration: Incorporate ESG factors into financial strategies, aligning with global standards like GRI and supporting CG’s commitments to sustainable development goals (SDGs).
- Crisis Management: Lead financial contingency planning for economic volatility, natural disasters, or geopolitical risks in Nepal and regional markets.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAN/ICAI, CPA, or equivalent; MBA in Finance from a reputed institution (e.g., IIM, Harvard, or similar) is highly desirable. Additional certifications like CFA, CMA, or FRM are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 15+ years in progressive finance roles, with at least 7 years as CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent in a large conglomerate, manufacturing/FMCG, or financial services firm. Proven track record in Nepal or South Asia, handling multi-subsidiary operations and revenues. Experience with family-owned businesses, IPOs, or private equity deals is advantageous.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Nepal’s business ecosystem, including hydropower, real estate, consumer goods, and import/export dynamics. Familiarity with international operations in emerging markets.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in financial modeling (Excel/DCFA), ERP implementations, BI tools (Tableau/Power BI), and fintech innovations. Proficiency in Nepali GAAP/IFRS convergence.
