Posiiton: District Coordinator
The Organisation
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.
We won’t stop until we are all equal.
ROLE PURPOSE
Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We strive for a just world, working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners in over 75 countries. Our programs are underpinned by a core of defined values, including transparency and accountability, team collaboration, inclusion and integration, as well as the overall ambition to empower girls and young women as legacy.
Plan International has been working in Nepal since 1978 and developed a strong reputation as a respected development and humanitarian actor helping marginalized children, their families and communities to access their rights to health, education, economic security and protection. Through the support of local partners, Plan International has worked in 42 districts in Nepal since 1978.
Plan International strives for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. Our ambition from now to 2027 is to see All Girls Standing Strong Creating Global Change.
Plan international Nepal seeks candidates who practice feminist leadership, promote diversity, actively seek innovative solutions for problems, courageously and respectfully share their opinions and ideas, break down barriers and engender cross-department collaboration, practice active.
Plan International’s global strategy applies a full spectrum approach where Disaster Risk Management (DRM) is an integral part of everything the organisation does for children and girls, especially in fragile settings. A new DRM vision was developed in 2018 highlighting Plan’s ambition of becoming a global leader and the NGO partner of choice for promoting gender equality and protecting girls’ rights in disaster and conflict settings, working at the nexus of development and humanitarian efforts.
Plan International has over the last 15 years developed a significant DRM portfolio and focused its efforts on both mainstreaming DRM within its long-term development programmes as well as building the necessary disaster preparedness and response capacity across the organization to ensure the delivery of timely and appropriate programmatic responses to crisis as per sector quality standards, The Core Humanitarian Standards, (CHS).
