Reports to: Head of Finance/Operations – Nepal

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Associate will play a key role in supporting effective financial management at Adara Development Nepal by assisting with accounting operations and ensuring that our partner organizations manage their finances efficiently and in line with Nepal’s accounting standards and government regulations. This includes helping with daily accounting tasks, supporting compliance with financial policies and government regulations, and assisting partners in managing the financial administration of their projects effectively and efficiently.

The Finance Associate will also contribute to building financial capacity across the organisation, maintain high standards of accuracy and transparency, and support smooth financial processes. This role is suited to someone with sound technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and a strong interest in supporting work that improves the lives of communities living in extreme poverty.

ABOUT YOU

  • Must be Nepali citizen and live in Nepal
  • A master’s degree in business studies, Business Administration, or a related field, or be a semi-qualified Chartered Accountant
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in government, I/NGOs, or donor-funded projects
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws in Nepal
    Experience using accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred)
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records
  • Good communication skills in both English and Nepali (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively with teams across different locations
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and a commitment to Adara’s mission of serving communities living in extreme poverty
