About the Organization
Kapilvastu Integrated Development Services (KIDS) is a non-governmental, non- profit, and non-political organization established on 31 August 2005 in Kapilvastu District, Nepal. The organization is duly registered with the District Administration Office and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC) since 20 March 2007.
KIDS was founded by committed community members with the vision of fostering a Healthy, inclusive and prosperous society with full of peace and equal justice. Since its establishment, the organization has worked to improve the quality of life of vulnerable and marginalized communities through inclusive, community-driven, and sustainable development interventions.
KIDS implements development and humanitarian programs across Lumbini Province in partnership with government agencies, national and international NGOs, UN agencies, donor organizations, and local communities. Its core thematic areas include Health, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Food Security and Livelihoods, Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Child Protection, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), Education, and Community Empowerment.

The Junior Technical Assistant (Livestock/ veterinary) will provide field-level technical

support to livestock farmers and entrepreneurs under the SaBaS Project. The position will promote livestock farming practices and support enterprise development through regular technical guidance, training, monitoring, and coordination with local stakeholders. This
reflects the typical role of JTAs in Nepal’s livestock and livelihood projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor the health and condition of livestock and poultry.
- Provide basic veterinary first aid and technical support within the scope of VJTA responsibilities.
- Identify common signs and symptoms of livestock and poultry diseases and provide appropriate technical advice.
- Support disease prevention, control, and management activities.
- Assist in vaccination, deworming, parasite control, and other animal health campaigns as authorized.
- Maintain proper records of animal health services provided.
- Identify complicated or emergency cases and refer them to a qualified veterinarian or appropriate veterinary service provider.
- Provide technical advice to farmers on scientific livestock management practices.
- Promote improved cattle, buffalo and goat management practices.
- Support farmers in improving animal housing, sanitation, hygiene and biosecurity.
- Provide technical guidance on breeding, reproduction and general livestock management.
- Coordinate with livestock section on palika level or ward level.
- Coordinate with supervisor for taken proper guidelines and support.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma/JTA/ TSLC in Livestock/ veterinary science from a recognized institution.
- 2 years of relevant work experience in livestock, animal health, veterinary services, farmer mobilization, or community-based livestock programs.
- Good knowledge of livestock health, disease prevention, vaccination, deworming, animal nutrition, breeding, husbandry and basic veterinary practices.
- Field experience: Experience working directly with farmers, livestock groups and rural communities will be an advantage.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills in Nepali; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
- Valid two-wheeler driving license with willingness to travel extensively within Kapilvastu is preferred.
