KOSHISH, established in 2008, is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting mental health and psychosocial well-being in Nepal. Embracing the spirit of “NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US”, KOSHISH advocates for the inclusion and meaningful participation of individuals with mental health issues and psychosocial disabilities. KOSHISH actively engages in community-based mental health programs, awareness campaigns, and advocacy efforts. Our overarching goal is to mainstream mental health within the broader health system and societal domains, such as social protection, education, inclusion, and employment

S/he will lead the MEAL unit and oversee the development and implementation of an annual calendar for KOSHISH’s results-based framework, which consolidates all ongoing projects and ensures alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives. The Coordinator will also actively contribute to fundraising and program development, particularly during this challenging and evolving period. He/ She must ensure that all projects maintain high-quality standards, are implemented efficiently, and adhere to effective financial management and control, ensuring value for money. The expected time allocation is approximately 60% at the central level and 40% in KOSHISH’s target areas

Additionally, the MEAL Manager is responsible for establishing a baseline of KOSHISH’s work, with a focus on linking it to disability inclusion, gender, human rights, and mental health in education—specifically addressing the mental health of children, adolescents, and youth.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Organizational monitoring and Evaluation level:

• Develop/ update organizational MEAL Framework and lead the development of Management Information System in line with organizational strategy. Develop and update the M&E framework of all projects and align it with MIS ensuring the integration of organizational strategies into projects.
• Carry out orientation and provide support to project teams on collection of data, maintaining database, analysis, and reporting.
• Support project team in ensuring timely submission and quality of periodic reports.
• Support in quality documentation, capture evidence, lessons learnt, good practices and case stories/ human interest stories of ongoing programs and projects.
• Work closely with program team to ensure that project-based learnings and monitoring/evaluation results are regularly used and reflected.
• Data collection, collation, storage, analysis, tracking and reporting on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis against performance indicators.
• Develop the organizational strategy indicators progress tracking mechanism and update the progress in alignment with all projects.
• Assist project teams to understand the concept of KOSHISH’s organizational strategy and facilitate incorporating the ideas into project monitoring, evaluation, and database management.
• Conduct periodic review semi and annual organizational level representative for individual projects.
• Guiding and supervision for M&E staff of Projects (Rupantaran/promising) and MEAL focal point for other overall projects.

2. Accountability:

• Conduct monitoring visits to projects sites and facilitates ensuring quality delivery of services as per the expected results.
• Ensure periodic reviews of all projects are carried out within the standards based on result-based indicators that align with baseline and periodic targets.
• Establish cordial communication and collaboration with concerned stakeholders both inside the country and outside, including the government agencies.

3. Assessment, study, and research:

• Prepare/update the assessment/research plan of all projects and the organization.
• Facilitate the recruitment of external experts when necessary for assessment or study purposes and ensure the quality of their work.

4. Programe Development and fundraising:

• Closely work with the Communication, Programme, and Fundraising teams on programme development and fundraising in the current context.
• Provide strategic guidance to the team, promote innovation, and lead the development and documentation of best practices that are scalable and sustainable.

5. Job Requirement

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or a relevant field, with proven experience in MEAL within the NGO/development sector.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the relevant field
• Experience in mental health, psychosocial support (MHPSS), disability inclusion, or related programme will be an advantage.

6. Technical Knowledge

• Develop and oversee the organizational and project-level Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) framework, systems, and tools.
• Lead data collection, analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring to ensure evidence-based decision-making and quality programming.
• Strengthen accountability, learning, and knowledge management practices in line with organizational strategies and donor requirements
