Posiiton: Finance Coordinator

Peace Brigades International (PBI) Nepal is seeking a qualified and committed Finance Coordinator to lead and oversee the financial management, accounting, budgeting, compliance, grant management, and financial reporting functions of the Country Office.

The Finance Coordinator will ensure compliance with the requirements of the Government of Nepal, Social Welfare Council (SWC), international donors including BMZ, and PBI International, while providing financial oversight and technical support to Partner organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day financial management and accounting functions.
  • Prepare and monitor organizational and project budgets and conduct Budget vs. Actual analysis.
  • Prepare financial reports for management, donors, SWC, and other regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with Government of Nepal, SWC, tax, labor, donor, and organizational requirements.
  • Manage statutory obligations including TDS, VAT where applicable, income tax, PAN, SSF, CIT, tax clearance, and organizational renewals.
  • Provide financial oversight, due diligence, and capacity-building support to Partner organizations.
  • Coordinate statutory, donor, and internal audits.
  • Strengthening financial systems, policies, procedures, internal controls, and risk management.
  • Serve as the focal point for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) compliance.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, grants management, or financial compliance.
  • Experience working with NGOs, INGOs, donor-funded programmes, or development organizations.
  • Experience in donor budgeting, financial reporting, grant management, and audit coordination.
  • Practical knowledge of Government of Nepal financial regulations, SWC procedures, taxation, labor laws, and statutory compliance.
  • Experience with international donor requirements is mandatory. Experience with BMZ, GIZ, EU, or UN is an advantage.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Strong Excel and financial management/accounting software skills.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English and Nepali, both written and spoken.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and ethical conduct.
