Project Officer

Overall Responsibilities:
- The position is responsible for ensuring Helen Keller International’s best practices are upheld, including adherence to the code of conduct, policies and procedures, financial accountability and making sure official matters are kept confidential.
- Ensuring quality is a primary objective of Helen Keller International’s programming and monitoring and evaluation oversight which is a requirement to achieve the best outcomes possible.
- As gender and social inclusion (GESI) is a cross- cutting and core component for Helen Keller International programs, all personnel are required to ensure GESI sensitivity and integration where they work.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities:
- Project Officer should provide assistance to Project Lead in planning and designing, supervision and monitoring of the project activities.
- Maintain close coordination with Family Welfare Division (FWD), Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (DFTQC), and Provincial stakeholders and its working partners in the project site/District and direct stakeholders for the smooth implementation of the project activities.
- Support Project Lead in organizing training, workshops/meetings, and field visits at the Province and Municipality level.
- Support capacity building of Field Officers and partner NGO staffs on IMAM, MBFHI and micronutrient supplementation programs.
- Communicate regularly with Project Coordinator and Field Officers to implement field-level activities properly.
- The position holder assists in preparing program reports, compilation, and communication of program status to Project Lead.
- The position holder must communicate with the implementing partners on implementation modality, quality, and timely delivery of project activities.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Educational Degree:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition: having master`s degree in public health or nutrition would be preferred.
Experiences and other competencies:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in nutrition/health sectors especially in the management of acute malnutrition.
- Prior work experience at central level will be given priority.
- Experience in NGO partner mobilization.
- Willing to travel to project areas and work with the government system.
- Ability to work in diverse teams having positive team spirit.
- Having excellent writing skills.
- Having good Nepali and English communication skills (oral and written).
