Position: Senior Officer – Purchase & Logistics
Job Location: Birgunj

Job Purpose

To ensure timely and cost-effective procurement and smooth inbound logistics by managing suppliers, import logistics & customs clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities including supplier sourcing, negotiation, PO issuance, and follow-ups
  • Coordinate import logistics, customs clearance, and inbound transportation
  • Prepare and submit customs documents and ensure VAT, excise, and customs compliance
  • Monitor inbound shipments to avoid delays and demurrage
  • Coordinate with Warehouse, Quality, and Accounts for inspection, unloading, and billing
  • Forecast logistics and customs costs and handle claims for shortages or damages
  • Maintain complete procurement and customs documentation

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field; Masters Preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in procurement, import logistics, and customs handling
  • Knowledge of LC processes, customs regulations, and documentation
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, VAT, excise, and LC processes
  • Good negotiation, coordination, and documentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
