Scott Wilson Nepal is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Business Development Associate (BDA) to drive strategic growth, build strong client relationships, and expand our market presence across Nepal. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in business development in the development consulting sector of Nepal within infrastructure development, research, and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL). BDA will play a key role in identifying new opportunities, developing proposals, and managing client engagements.

Job Title: Business Development Associate (BDA)
Remuneration: Attractive package reflecting competencies and experience.
Working Days: 5 days a week (Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
Contract: Long-term (following a 3-months probationary period)

Reporting to: Business Development Lead and CEO

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives in Nepal.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends.
Identify and target new clients, partnerships, and market opportunities.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with consultant, clients, government agencies, and the stakeholders from the development sector
Conduct national and international portal-based market research, pre-positioning, and strategic priority setting.
Prepare and present compelling proposals, bid documents, and presentations to secure new business.
Collaborate with technical teams to develop tailored solutions and ensure client requirements are met.
Represent Scott Wilson Nepal at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
Monitor and report on business development performance metrics and progress.
Update the contents of the company website and social media to reflect the firm’s strengths and ongoing projects.
Administer the organization’s knowledge management system.

Qualification

Master’s degree in Engineering, Sustainable Development Studies, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, bid preparation, research activities, or client management in Nepal.
Proven record in development consulting in Nepal, especially in climate-resilient infrastructure, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), and research.
Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships and close deals.
Core Competencies and Technical/Functional Expertise
Excellent ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize and implement multiple tasks within strict deadlines, and produce high-quality deliverables.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English and Nepali
Excellent ability to work well within a team as well as independently.
Strong interpersonal capacity with a positive attitude and a good sense of humor.
Ability and willingness for field travel.
Strong at using MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Proficient in social media management and design tools like Canva, Piktochart, etc.
