In response to the Bhotekoshi flash flood, UMN invites applications from interested and qualified Nepali candidates for the positions mentioned below. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring recovery project activities.

Position: Project Manager (Engineer)
Required Number: 1
Location: Kathmandu

The Project Manager (Engineer) will support regular monitoring, ensure quality assurance, and provide technical inputs on construction and settlement related interventions at the field level throughout the recovery project.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, disaster management or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in public, institutional, or private building construction.
  • Experience in project implementation, monitoring, and reporting, preferably in a humanitarian context.
  • Experience working in humanitarian settings, particularly in the community, school, and health sectors, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of multi-hazard-resistant construction techniques and rural construction practices.
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
