About YKP LEAD Nepal
YKP LEAD Nepal is a youth-led and youth-serving organization committed to promoting the rights, wellbeing, and leadership of Young Key Populations (YKPs) and Young People Living with HIV (YPLHIV) in Nepal. Guided by the motto “For the youth, by the youth, and led by the youth,” we work to build leadership, strengthen advocacy, and create inclusive spaces for meaningful youth engagement.
Position Summary
The Program Officer will provide technical and leadership support in planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting donor-funded projects related to HIV, CABA/CLHIV, youth leadership, advocacy, and capacity building for YKPs and YPLHIVs. The role requires close coordination with community focal points, national networks, government stakeholders, and donors.
Key Responsibilities
A. Program Management & Implementation
- Lead implementation of projects related to CABA cash transfer advocacy, youth leadership, HIV care & support, and skill development.
- Develop project proposals, concept notes, and related documents to procure funding.
- Develop work plans, activity schedules, and budgets in line with donor requirements.
- Ensure quality delivery of trainings, workshops, and consultations for YKPs and YPLHIVs.
B. Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with government bodies, national networks, NGOs, and community focal points
- Support advocacy initiatives for integration of CABA cash transfer schemes into national social security systems.
- Support organizational learning, mentoring of team members, and youth leadership development
- -Represent YKP LEAD Nepal in meetings, consultations, and coordination forums
C. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Track program progress using approved indicators and monitoring tools
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual narrative reports, case stories, and data-driven updates for donors
- Support documentation for Administration.
D. Financial & Compliance Coordination
- Work closely with finance and leadership to ensure activities align with SWC and donor compliance requirements.
- Support budget tracking, financial justification, and activity documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related fields
- Minimum 3 years of experience in program management (HIV, youth, or development sector)
- Strong understanding of YKPs, YPLHIV, CABA/CLHIV, and rights-based programming
- Experience working with donor-funded projects (Global Fund experience is an asset)
- Strong skills in proposal writing, reporting, coordination, and facilitation
- Familiarity with SWC regulations and NGO compliance is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali
