Nabil Stock Dealer Limited, a subsidiary of Nabil Bank Limited and a licensed Stock Dealer, invites applications from qualified, competent and motivated Nepalese citizens for the following positions:

Position: Investment Manager/Officer

Job Purpose

The Investment Trader will execute and manage the company’s proprietary investments in listed securities on NEPSE. The role requires following the approved investment policy, risk limits, and regulatory requirements. The goal is to generate sustainable risk-adjusted returns on the company’s own capital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute buy and sell orders on the company’s proprietary account through the NEPSE trading system, in line with approved investment decisions and limits.
  • Conduct fundamental analysis of listed companies, including financial statements, valuation, sector outlook, and dividend and right share history.
  • Conduct technical analysis covering price trends, volume, support and resistance, momentum indicators, and entry and exit timing.
  • Monitor the portfolio daily, including mark-to-market positions, unrealized gains and losses, concentration, and sector exposure.
  • Track macroeconomic and policy developments that affect the market, such as NRB monetary policy, liquidity, interest rates, the federal budget, and SEBON and NEPSE directives.
  • Coordinate with settlement, CDSC/DP, and accounts teams for timely clearing, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly trading and portfolio performance reports for management.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Securities Act, 2063, SEBON regulations applicable to stock dealers, insider trading provisions, and the company’s internal code of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications

Academic

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA/MBS), Economics, or a related field from a recognized university.
    Or a Bachelor’s degree in these fields with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • CFA (any level), CA, or equivalent professional certification will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in securities trading, portfolio management, investment research, or treasury operations at a stockbroker, stock dealer, merchant banker, BFI, mutual fund, or insurance company.
  • Applicants with proven experience in proprietary trading or portfolio management will be preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of NEPSE market microstructure, the trading system, circuit breakers, and settlement.
  • Sound knowledge of valuation methods and of how to analyze BFI financials.
  • Practical skills in technical analysis using charting platforms.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework: Securities Act, 2063, SEBON directives, NRB policies that affect margin lending and the market, and AML/CFT requirements.

Tools

  • Advanced MS Excel, plus working proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with market data portals and research databases.

Personal Attributes

  • Emotional discipline and the ability to make quick, objective decisions under pressure.
  • A risk-conscious mindset with strict adherence to limits and procedures.
  • High integrity and confidentiality, with no tolerance for conflicts of interest.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and report-writing skills in both English and Nepali.
  • Ability to work long market hours and handle volatile market conditions.

Eligibility Conditions

  • Applicant must be a Nepali citizen.
  • Age should not exceed [35] years as of the application deadline. The age limit may be relaxed for exceptionally experienced candidates.
  • Applicant must not have been convicted of any criminal offence, financial fraud, or offence involving moral turpitude.
  • Applicant must not have been penalized by SEBON, NEPSE, CDSC, or NRB for insider trading, market manipulation, or other violations.
  • The selected candidate must disclose all personal and family securities holdings and must follow the company’s personal trading and insider trading policy.
  • Applicants currently employed at a broker, dealer, or other market intermediary must disclose that employment and obtain a release upon selection.

Location: Kathmandu

Remuneration

Salary and benefits will be as per the company’s rules and commensurate with qualifications and experience. A performance-based incentive may apply.
