Role Overview
As a Junior SEO Content Writer at Orka Socials, you will join our in-house team for dynamic projects. You’ll become the voice behind exciting blog posts, thought leadership pieces, and more. You will gain a deep understanding of business needs and scope, delivering a wide variety of content while collaborating closely with our professional services teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Research Proficiency: Gather information on various topics to ensure content accuracy and depth.
- Content Creation: Create engaging and original blog posts and articles on assigned topics.
- Quality Assurance: Review your work for grammar, clarity, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Feedback Incorporation: Revise content based on feedback from team members and clients to refine writing skills.
- Writing Style Adaptation: Adapt writing style and tone according to client guidelines and target audiences.
- SEO Implementation: Incorporate on-page SEO best practices — including keyword targeting, meta descriptions, internal linking, and content structuring — into every piece.
- AI-Assisted Content Workflow: Use AI writing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper) to assist with drafting, ideation, and content scaling, while ensuring all output is fact-checked, edited, and aligned with brand voice.
- Prompt Engineering: Craft effective prompts to extract high-quality, accurate outputs from AI tools, and apply human editing to meet client standards.
- Content Archiving: Organise and maintain a library of written content for easy reference and future use.
- Audience Awareness: Understand the target audience’s preferences and tailor content to meet their needs and interests.
- Collaborative Development: Work closely with senior writers and team members to understand project requirements.
- Team Engagement: Attend regular team meetings to discuss content ideas and receive feedback.
- Professional Growth: Stay current with SEO trends, content algorithm updates, and AI tool advancements.
Your Qualifications
- Basic to intermediate writing skills with a strong grasp of grammar, punctuation, and tone.
- Some writing experience (e.g., school projects, personal blogs, internships, or freelance work) is a plus.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI writing tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Jasper.
- Understanding of prompt engineering fundamentals — knowing how to direct AI tools to produce useful, accurate content.
- Awareness of SEO basics: keywords, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, and search intent.
- Genuine interest in improving writing, SEO, and AI-assisted content skills.
- Willingness to adjust writing style and tone based on client requirements and audience needs.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality, factually accurate content.
- Ability to generate fresh ideas and unique angles for content topics.
- Effective use of online resources and databases for research and fact-checking.
- Openness to constructive criticism and a desire to continuously improve.
- Basic time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
- Proficiency with writing and editing tools such as Google Docs, Grammarly, and Surfer SEO (or similar).
